What actually makes mobile RPG progression feel good
I've played a lot of mobile RPGs, and the ones that stick almost always get progression right. It's not about more numbers. It's about choices that feel like yours and rewards that arrive at the right moment.
Good systems let you see the next goal clearly. You know what unlocks at the next level, and it's something you want. Bad ones scatter rewards so thin that leveling becomes a chore you tolerate instead of enjoy.
The best games also let you experiment. Ashveil Chronicles, for example, lets you respec cheaply, so trying a new build is exciting instead of punishing. That freedom turns the skill tree into a playground rather than a trap.
If a game makes you grind just to keep pace with its own difficulty, that's a warning sign. Progression should feel like growing stronger, not like keeping a treadmill from throwing you off.
